Known as BC Home, This sustainable house style located at a privileged topographic situation, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico was designed with energetic efficiency by Gilberto L. Rodríguez, GLR Arquitectos. The GLR Arquitectos‘ residence is composed of simple house style with pure geometric volumes. The green house style is also an exploration of new building materials, such as black granite, white uncovered concrete, and uncovered steel elements. A study on energetic efficiency, which analyzes the sun trajectory and the prevailing winds in varied seasons of the yr led the house to consist of a series of varied methods of isolation, like its double walls with poliisocianurate, an ecological insulator; double windows with low emissivity (Reduced-E) glass; methods of pluvial water harvesting and gray water therapy for irrigation, solar paddles for pool heating and backyard illumination, solar water heaters, hydronic heating methods to reduce the power consumption, south oriented skylights, as well as a landscape undertaking with native vegetation.
